Dear Gooding School District Students, Staff, Parents, and Community Members,
As the school year wraps up, I want to take a moment to reflect on all we’ve accomplished—and thank the incredible people who made it possible.
This year, we made strong progress on our District Strategic Plan, advancing or completing all 17 tasks. This plan guides our work in six key areas: college and career readiness, high-quality staff, safe facilities, clear communication, responsible finances, and strong learning opportunities. It provides a clear path forward—and you can view it on our website at https://gsd231.org.
None of this would happen without our dedicated administrators, teachers and staff. Their hard work, professionalism, and care for students are at the heart of everything we do. From classrooms to cafeterias, offices to buses—our team works together to support student success every step of the way.
This year, we:
- Updated our Social Studies and Life Skills curriculum
- Strengthened curriculum alignment in English and math
- Provided staff training in English language learning, CPR, emergency response, and classroom resiliency strategies
And most importantly, our students thrived:
- Kindergarteners more than doubled their reading proficiency, finishing above state benchmarks
- Over 90% of middle schoolers finished the year with no failing grades
- The Gooding Alternative Learning Center graduated 10 students
- 93% of eligible special education students graduated
- The Class of 2025 earned more than $3 million in scholarships
Thank you for your continued support. It truly takes all of us—families, staff, and community members—working together to make a difference. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited for what’s ahead.
With deep gratitude,
