Dear Gooding School District Students, Staff, Parents, and Community Members,
On behalf of the Gooding Joint School District, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year. I hope you enjoyed a safe and restful summer. It is truly an honor and privilege to serve as Superintendent of this district, and I am excited to join our staff in beginning another year of learning, growth, and achievement.
As we open the school year, I would like to highlight a few important areas of focus across our schools:
- Gooding Elementary continues its strong Professional Leaming Community work, emphasizing essential standards, using student data to improve instruction, and better meeting the individual needs of students. We are especially proud of our IRI growth, particularly at the kindergarten level.
- Gooding Middle School is embarking on a 15-Day Challenge Professional Leaming Community book study to deepen our commitment to data-driven instruction. This study will provide valuable strategies and help us remain intentional in our work, ensuring that every decision supports student learning.
- Gooding High School welcomes nine new staff members this year, along with others who are stepping into new roles. Together, they are working to develop strong Professional Leaming Communities that will support both collaboration and student success.
- The Gooding Alternative Learning Center celebrated 11 graduates last year, and we look forward to being at full capacity this year. Each student who earns a diploma through this program is a reminder of the critical role the alternative school plays in providing second chances and keeping students on the path to success.
The safety and security of our students and staff remain a top priority. Over the summer, the high school parking lot was completely renovated, improving traffic flow, parking, drainage, and accessibility. This year, we are beginning a new partnership with the Gooding County Sheriffs Office to provide our School Resource Officer. Previously, this position was supported through the City of Gooding, and we are grateful for their past collaboration. Along with this new partnership, our District Crisis Response Guide has been updated, and we will continue working closely with law enforcement and first responders to ensure our schools remain safe, supportive places for learning.
At the heart of the Gooding School District are the strong, caring relationships between staff and students. Our commitment is to provide a high-quality, comprehensive education for every student, and I thank you for entrusting us with this important work.
