Dear Gooding School District Families, Staff, and Community Members,
I hope this message finds you well as we reach the midpoint of the school year. It is truly an honor to serve the Gooding School District, and I am grateful for the continued support and partnership of our families, staff, and community. I’d like to share a brief update on the progress we are making together.
Supporting Student Learning
One of the key priorities in our district strategic plan is Quality Learning Opportunities. Thanks to the dedication of our students and staff, interim assessment results show academic growth across all grade levels. We are also continuing important work to align our K-12 Language Arts and Math curriculum, along with updating pacing guides and course outlines. These resources are available on our district website at gsd231.org, and reflect our commitment to consistent, high-quality instruction for every student.
Facilities and District Improvements
We have made several facility and equipment improvements that support student learning and safety, including resurfacing the high school parking lot, creating a new “Bistro” space for the high school child nutrition program, installing a new bus lift, and purchasing a new driver’s education vehicle. Additional updates include replacing the Main Street reader board, remodeling a special education classroom at the elementary school, and replacing I 05 desks across the district. These investments help create welcoming, functional spaces for students and staff.
School Board Appreciation
We would like to congratulate Deborah Balch on her re-election to the school board and extend our sincere thanks to Michael Perry for his 12 years of dedicated service to the district. We are also pleased to welcome Chad Loveland, who begins his term this month. Our board members’ leadership and commitment play an important role in supporting our schools and community.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the second half of the school year, strengthening communication and collaboration with parents and community members remains a priority. If you are interested in participating in a focus group to share ideas or provide feedback, I would welcome hearing from you.
Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and schools. Please feel free to contact the district office if you have any questions or concerns.
With great pride
