Class Size
The District will strive to achieve ratios consistent with the following state class size ratio goals:

Kindergarten | 20 |
Grades 1, 2, 3 | 20 |
Grades 4, 5, 6 | 26 |
Junior High | 160 per teacher |
High School | 160 per teacher |
Alternative School 7th-12th | 18 average daily class load |
In kindergarten and at the elementary level, a class shall be considered overloaded when it exceeds the following number of students:
Kindergarten-1st Grade – 28 Second (2nd), Third (3rd) Grades- 30 Fourth (4th) – Sixth (6th) Grades – 32
The Board of Trustees recognizes that achieving the goal of this policy is dependent upon the financial ability of the District. Superintendent shall review overloaded class situations and may place an assistant in the classroom or offer other solutions to relieve overloaded class conditions.
